
Kimberly Innocenzi
Kimberly Innocenzi is the lovely long time wife of MLB manager, Joe Giraradi. Her 51-year-old husband is the current manager of the NY Yankees.
Re-signed to a four-year contract on October 9, 2013, extending through the 2017 season. Kimberly’s hubby became the 32nd manager in club history on October 30, 2007. In 2009, the former Yankees catcher coached his former team to a World Series Championship. He re-signed a three-year contract on October 29, 2010, that concluded following the 2013 season.
Girardi, became the 17th Yankees manager to have played for the club and fourth former Yankees catcher to skipper the team.
Prior to arriving to the Yankees he began his managerial career in 2006 with the Florida Marlins –being named the National League manager of the year. The previous season he had a one time stint as a coach, working with the NY Yankees in 2005.
As a catcher, Joe played with four MLB teams including two stints with the Chicago Cubs, the Colorado Rockies, NY Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Kim’s hubby was born October 14, 1964. He graduated in 1982 from Spalding Institute in Peoria, Ill., where he was an All-State selection in baseball. While attending Northwestern University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, and was named a three-time Academic All-American and two-time All-Big 10 selection for his athletic abilities.
Girardi made his Major League Baseball debut in 1989. He participated in 15 seasons as a catcher in the Major Leagues with the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees. He was a member of three World Series Championship squads in New York (1996, 1998-99), and played in a total of six postseasons with the Cubs (1989), Rockies (1995) and Yankees (1996-99). While playing for the Cubs, Girardi was named the 2000 All-Star team, his only All-Star appearance.
After retiring as a catcher in 2004, Girardi became a commentator for the YES Network, and hosted the kids-oriented Kids on Deck. He received positive reviews for his abilities as a broadcaster, and was offered an expanded role on 2005 Yankee broadcasts. Girardi, however, decided to become a coach instead by accepting a bench coach and catching instructor position with the New York Yankees.
Kimberly Innocenzi officially became Kimberly Gerardi in 1990. She is the mother of the couple’s three children. The Girardis’ are the proud parents of two daughters and a son. Kimberly Innocenzi first gave birth to daughter Serena, now 16-years-old. The couple welcomed son, Dante 14, and became parents for the third time of daughter, Lena, 9.
As a long time baseball wag, Kimberly Innocenzi knows the ins and outs about being married to a sports figure like her husband. Kim met her future husband while he was behind the plate for the Northwestern University baseball team. Story goes, one night at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house, Kim lost an earring. Girardi seized the opportunity and discovered the buried treasure. Three years after graduating, Girardi asked Kim to marry him.
Over the years, the wife and mom of three, has hosted several charitable events at Yankee Stadium, including fundraisers for stomach cancer research in which fans could purchase blue hair extensions and mohawks.
Kim has been very supportive of her husband and has been there for him doing whatever is necessary to show her loving support. A few years back the whole family participated in a series of commercials for Dove lotion.
Kimberly Innocenzi work as a baseball wife, also has included participating in a number of charity events and fundraisers like the Home Sweet Home fundraiser at the Villa Barone Manor, NY.
